Saint Lucia cricketers resume training at High Performance Centre

High-performance cricketers in Saint Lucia have resumed training at the Saint Lucia Cricket High Performance Centre (HPC) following a break for the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL). During the CPL break, some HPC members served as net bowlers for the Saint Lucia Kings and other visiting teams.

Training sessions at Mindoo Phillip Park have focused on technical fundamentals. Assistant bowling coach and former Windward Islands spinner Larry Edward is working with young spinners to improve their line and length. The training program utilizes pitch maps and cones, aiming for players to hit specific marks on 40 out of 45 deliveries.

Edward emphasized the necessity of mastering core mechanics and consistency to prepare players for higher levels of competition, such as the Windwards level. He noted that the recent CPL provided valuable exposure for players to interact with experienced international cricketers and coaches.
