Saint Lucia police advance asset seizure operation against 10 targets

Police Commissioner Verne Garde has announced that an operation to seize the assets of 10 suspected criminals has reached an “advanced stage”. The initiative, first announced in February, aims to target property and wealth acquired through illegal activities.

The effort is a collaborative operation involving a serious investigations team, the Financial Intelligence Agency (FIA), and Customs. Garde indicated that the task force continues to meet regularly to strategize and assess progress.

While most cases are domestic, Garde noted that three of the investigations have a transnational dimension. These specific cases require ongoing cooperation with international partners to manage the delicate nature of the cross-border assets.
