Saint-Martin unveils sketches for major infrastructure projects
An exhibition held in Saint-Martin has revealed the preliminary designs for three major upcoming construction projects: the Thelbert Cartide dock in Quartier d’Orléans, a socio-cultural center in Sandy Ground, and a technical center in Galisbay.
Organized by the Council of Architecture, Urbanism, and the Environment (CAUE) of Guadeloupe, the event showcased work from various teams of architects, engineers, and specialists. The designs focus on integrating the structures into the local urban fabric while addressing geo-climatic constraints, such as prevailing winds and noise pollution. For instance, the Galisbay technical center is designed to position workshops to minimize noise while providing sea views for the offices.
