Saint-Michel fair near Toulouse opens following safety delays

The Saint-Michel fair near Toulouse, located near the MEETT exhibition center in Aussonne, began on September 18, 2026, following a delayed opening. The event, which features approximately 150 attractions across 4 hectares, faced initial setbacks due to safety compliance issues.

During a security inspection involving Toulouse Métropole, the Haute-Garonne prefecture, firefighters, and ENEDIS, several issues were identified across six attractions. While five were corrected immediately, one children's ride was temporarily banned by the Aussonne town hall due to a non-compliant electrical connection and a missing insurance certificate. The ride was permitted to reopen on Saturday, September 19.

Additionally, the fireworks display originally scheduled for the opening night was canceled by the Haute-Garonne prefecture due to drought conditions. The fair is scheduled to run until October 11.
