Palermo police arrest man after seizing 9 kg of drugs
Carabinieri officers in Palermo have arrested a 35-year-old man following a routine check that led to a significant drug seizure. Working with the K9 Unit, authorities discovered approximately 8.8 kilograms of hashish, consisting of 115 blocks, hidden in two locations within the suspect's home: one part inside a freezer and the other in a laundry basket on a balcony.
In addition to the hashish, police seized 218 grams of cocaine packaged in vacuum seals. Officers also recovered 1,750 euros in cash and a notebook containing names and figures, which investigators believe may serve as a “libro mastro” (ledger) for the drug trafficking activity. The suspect has been transferred to the Pagliarelli prison in Palermo as investigations continue to determine the full extent of the criminal network.
