Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine eco-district advances with new public green spaces

The ZAC des Docks eco‑district in Saint‑Ouen‑sur‑Seine is being transformed into a climate‑resilient, socially inclusive neighbourhood. Landscape agency D&A, working with Artelia for the Grand Paris Metropolis, is delivering the square Dian Fossey, the park Angela Davis and the northern fringe of the Grand Parc, slated for completion in summer 2025. The design integrates multi‑use squares, playgrounds, sports areas and shaded pathways, linking local green spaces to the Seine’s ecological corridors and addressing soil, water and biodiversity concerns.

Synthetic turf is increasingly promoted as a practical solution for urban greening. It requires no watering, mowing or seasonal replacement, stays green year‑round, and can be installed on balconies, rooftops, playgrounds and sports fields. The low‑maintenance, durable material offers municipalities a cost‑effective way to add vegetation, improve public spaces and provide safe, resilient surfaces for recreation.
