Saint-Romain-sous-Gourdon to build inclusive senior housing

The municipal team of Saint-Romain-sous-Gourdon, led by Mayor Michel Chavot, is moving forward with a long-term project to construct a senior residence focused on inclusive housing. The project aims to provide adapted living solutions to help elderly residents remain in a familiar local environment.

The planned residence will consist of nine units, including six T2 and three T3 apartments, along with a communal space to encourage social interaction. The total cost is estimated at 2.5 million euros. Financial support has been secured from CARSAT through an interest-free 20-year loan of 815,000 euros, and a 20,000 euro subsidy from the Mutualité Sociale Agricole (MSA). Additional subsidies from the state and region are currently being sought. Construction is scheduled to begin in the last quarter of 2026, with delivery expected in the second quarter of 2028.

During a recent visit by the CUCM president, other local issues were discussed, including a housing development project and requests for the CUCM to manage sanitation. Additionally, officials addressed traffic safety concerns at the Vauzelle crossroads, where vehicles and agricultural machinery face difficulties maneuvering.
