Saint Óscar Arnulfo Romero commemorated on 109th birth anniversary

Commemorations are underway to mark the 109th anniversary of the birth of Saint Óscar Arnulfo Romero, the first Salvadoran saint. The community at the Crypt of Mons Óscar Arnulfo Romero has organized a religious and cultural agenda for August 15, featuring presentations, testimonials, poetry readings, and musical performances.

The festivities include a solemn Eucharist and a community cake cutting. Additionally, the National Committee of Monseñor Romero is organizing a collection campaign for medicines and food supplies.

Historical photographs have been released to honor his legacy, documenting his life from his youth in El Salvador to his travels in Italy and Mexico. These images capture his formative years in the seminary, his time in Rome, and his pastoral work interacting with peasants and families in various regions.
