Saint Teresa's ceremonial cape returns to Alba de Tormes

The ceremonial cape and mozzetta of Saint Teresa of Jesus are returning to Alba de Tormes following a technical restoration in Seville. The textile ensemble, made of silver tissue with gold metallic thread embroidery and baroque floral motifs, was restored to ensure its long-term stability and conservation.

Created in 1914 in Valencia by the workshop of Justo Burillo, the garments are part of the significant heritage of the Monastery of the Annunciation. The restoration project was funded through donations from local residents and devotees of the Saint. The pieces will be displayed during upcoming religious celebrations, beginning with the traditional closing procession on October 14.
