Saint-Étienne police seize 750 kg of cannabis worth 2 million euros

Police in Saint-Étienne have seized over 750 kilograms of cannabis resin in a major operation targeting organized crime. The seizure, conducted by the Lyon branch of the anti-narcotics office (Ofast 69), took place in the Cotonne district following intelligence reports.

During the operation, officers observed two individuals loading a van and moved in to make arrests. In addition to the drugs, authorities recovered a handgun, ammunition, cash, and several vehicles. The total value of the seized goods is estimated at approximately 2 million euros.

Two suspects were taken into custody: a 32-year-old man from Firminy, who has been placed in pre-trial detention, and a 47-year-old resident of Saint-Étienne, who was presented to a magistrate for further legal proceedings.
