Saint-Valery-sur-Somme prepares for summer cultural events and peak tourism

The Saint-Valery-sur-Somme region in France is experiencing a busy summer season characterized by diverse cultural activities and high tourism demand.

Local cultural offerings include various art exhibitions, such as Virginie Sueur’s photography series ‘Bénie soit la mer’ and works by Christine Godin and Philippe Capelleau. The Tréteaux Buissonniers festival is also hosting theatrical performances through August 17, including a tribute to Raymond Devoso. Additionally, the area features guided heritage tours, local markets, and musical events like the eSTIVALes and the Organ Week at Saint-Martin church.

In the nearby Mareuil-Caubert area, tourism operators are preparing for the peak holiday weekend of August 15. At the Les Portes de la Baie de Somme campsite, managers Clovis and Jean-Robert Durand are finalizing preparations to accommodate a full capacity of international visitors. The campsite is managing high volumes of both early and last-minute reservations, focusing on maintenance and logistics to handle the influx of vacationers.
