Saint Vincent and the Grenadines police launch manhunt after fatal shooting

A manhunt is underway in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines following a shooting in the Green Hill district of Central Kingstown on Friday night, September 25, 2026. The incident left four people dead and four others injured.

Police reported that officers arrived at the scene around 10:30 p.m. to find two bodies on the public road—one female found inside a parked vehicle and another on adjacent land. Preliminary examinations confirmed the fatalities were caused by gunshot wounds. Of the four injured individuals, two have been discharged from Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, while two remain under medical care.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the deceased or established a motive. The investigation follows a period of rising gang violence in the region, which has recorded nearly 37 homicides this year. Acting Commissioner of Police Trevor Bailey and Assistant Commissioner Brenton Smith indicated that investigations are ongoing, and police are appealing to the public for witnesses or video footage to assist in the manhunt.
