Saint Vincent and the Grenadines seeks diaspora investment

Dwight Bramble, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, has called on the nation's diaspora to engage in national development. Speaking at the ‘Home Is Where the Heart Is’ event in New York, Bramble emphasized that Vincentians living abroad should be viewed as community members and development partners rather than merely as foreign investors.

The government aims to integrate the diaspora into the country's economic framework by translating emotional connections into practical opportunities. Proposed initiatives include diaspora professionals partnering with local businesses, mentoring youth, participating in trade missions, and assisting Vincentian companies in accessing international markets.

To support these efforts, a dedicated Diaspora Affairs Department has been established. The government intends to create clearer pathways for diaspora investment and ensure that foreign policy and trade strategies reflect the relationship between the nation and its citizens living overseas.
