Saira Banu recalls childhood memories and love for Dilip Kumar

Veteran Bollywood actress Saira Banu marked her birthday by sharing nostalgic reflections on her childhood and her lifelong connection to the late screen legend Dilip Kumar.

In a social media post, Banu reminisced about the elaborate celebrations organized by her family, including her mother, Naseem Banu, her grandmother Shamshad Waheed Khan, and her brother, Sultan. She described her childhood birthday cakes as ‘architectural achievements’ and noted the thoughtfulness behind the gifts she received.

Banu also detailed her long-standing admiration for Dilip Kumar, stating she had been ‘hopelessly smitten’ with him since the age of 12. She recalled how her early romantic notions were initially declined by the actor, who insisted she was too young at the time, before their relationship eventually evolved into a lifelong love story. She also reflected on her cinematic debut in the film ‘Junglee’.
