Saison Modern Art Museum Reopens with Mikiya Takimoto Photo Exhibition in Yokohama
The Saison Modern Art Museum, celebrating its 45th anniversary and recent renovation, opened a new photography exhibition in Yokohama. Curated by photographer Mikiya Takimoto, the show features 23 newly created works shot on 4×5 sinogo film, capturing the museum’s architecture, garden, and the surrounding natural environment of Mount Asama. The exhibition runs from August 8 to November 9 at the Saison Art Shop and a photo‑book of the works is slated for release after September.
The museum, originally opened in Karuizawa in 1981, was closed for about two years for renewal before reopening. This exhibition highlights the interplay of light, air, and time, aiming to present qualities that digital photography cannot fully convey.
