Saitama businesses announce closures and new openings

Local businesses in Saitama Prefecture are undergoing changes. In Kawaguchi, the popular bakery and cake shop Deijii Honten will temporarily close starting October 13, 2026, for reconstruction. The shop is expected to undergo a renewal and reopen in March 2027.

In Kawagoe, a new establishment named Koedo Menchi is set to open in the Kashiya Yokocho area. The shop will occupy the former site of the pudding specialty store Nikoda. Koedo Menchi is known for its minced meat cutlets made with A5-rank Wagyu beef and local Koedo Black Pork.
