Saitama Prefecture to host morning-picked grape festival

Saitama Prefecture is hosting the ‘Saitama Morning-Picked Grape Festival’ on August 29 and 30 in Saitama City. The event, held at the Marumaru Higashinihon East Japan Collaboration Center, aims to promote the branding of local agricultural products, with grapes designated as a priority item for the 2026 fiscal year.

In cooperation with the ‘Sai no Kuni Grape Club,’ local producers will sell fresh, morning-picked grapes at direct-sales prices. Varieties available include Shine Muscat, Kyoho, and the rare Chichibu Yamaruby. Participating farms include Hide Fruit Garden, Shiozaki Farm, and several others from the Chichibu and Kawagoe regions.

The festival is part of a broader effort to increase consumer awareness of the quality and flavor of Saitama-grown grapes.
