Saitama Seibu Lions foreign players key to Climax Series success

Analysts Hiroki Nomura and Kenji Tomashino have identified the performance of foreign players Nevin and Canario as critical factors for the Saitama Seibu Lions heading into the Climax Series First Stage.

Nomura noted that Nevin’s usage in short-series play will be vital, particularly regarding on-base percentages for the top of the lineup. He highlighted that the Lions' performance improved significantly following Nevin's rise in May. Tomashino added that the contributions of foreign players have been a key point for the team throughout the season.

Nevin finished the season with a .265 batting average, 21 home runs, and 48 RBIs across 103 games, while Canario recorded a .247 batting average, 16 home runs, and 54 RBIs in 133 games.
