Sajjad Mustafa Syed restored as P@SHA chairman

The Directorate General of Trade Organisations (DGTO) has intervened to resolve a leadership crisis at the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) by restoring Sajjad Mustafa Syed as chairman. The regulator declared the recent no-confidence vote against Syed invalid, citing that the removal process failed to meet necessary legal and procedural requirements.

The DGTO decision cancels the August 22 resolution and reverses the previous notification that had granted acting chairmanship to Senior Vice Chairman Muhammad Umair Nizam. Consequently, Syed will serve the remainder of his statutory term, which runs from 2024 to 2026.

P@SHA’s Central Executive Committee has acknowledged the ruling and pledged its full support and cooperation to Syed as he resumes his duties. The association stated its commitment to collective leadership and the continued advancement of Pakistan’s IT and IT-enabled services industry.
