Sakai City truck collision leaves woman dead

A fatal multi-vehicle accident occurred on the Hanwa Expressway in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, on the morning of October 13. A truck collided with a light passenger vehicle that had stopped due to traffic congestion, subsequently causing the car to strike another truck ahead.

A woman believed to be in her 70s, traveling in the light vehicle, was transported to the hospital in cardiopulmonary arrest and later confirmed dead. Two men in the second truck sustained minor injuries. Police have arrested a man in his 30s, the driver of the initial truck, on suspicion of negligent driving resulting in injury and death.
