Sakanaction to provide theme song for new Detective is in the BAR film

The musical group Sakanaction will provide the theme song for the upcoming film ‘BYE BYE LOVE Tantei wa BAR ni iru’ (Detective is in the BAR), scheduled for release on December 25. The chosen track is ‘Goodbye’, a song originally released by the band in 2014.

The film is the latest installment in the popular series set in Sapporo’s Susukino district, starring Yo Oizumi and Ryhei Matsuda. Directed by Kazumi Shiraishi and written by Ryota Furusawa, the production features a significant connection to Hokkaido, as the original author, the director, the producer, the lead actor, and all members of Sakanaction are from the region.

Lead actor Yo Oizumi commented on the selection, stating that the song fits the film perfectly, describing it as ‘sad and poignant, and a wonderful song once again.’
