Sakanaction vocalist Ichiro Yamaguchi announces cluster headache onset

Ichiro Yamaguchi, the vocalist of the rock band Sakanaction, has announced that he is experiencing an onset of his chronic condition, cluster headaches. According to his social media posts, the condition occurs in cycles every two to three years and typically lasts for approximately two months per episode.

Yamaguchi noted that he is currently managing these headaches alongside fluctuations related to depression, while also preparing for an upcoming national tour and ongoing music production. He informed fans that his frequency of social media updates might decrease temporarily but expressed his intention to manage the situation without overexerting himself.

Sakanaction is scheduled to begin its national tour, ‘SAKANAQUARIUM 2026-2027 “Toumei”’, on September 8, with ten performances planned across Tokyo, Osaka, and Hyogo.
