Sakarya hosts Turkey Cultural Road Festival and unveils 'Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Campus' projects

The Turkey Cultural Road Festival began in Sakarya, featuring a nine‑day programme of concerts, exhibitions, theatre, workshops and other cultural activities. Singer Ferhat Göçer performed to a crowd of thousands at the Millet Bahçesi, and a porcelain‑decorating workshop drew many women participants.

At the same time, city officials inspected the developing City Library and Science Centre, which together with a municipal service building and a city museum will form the "Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Campus." Mayor Yusuf Alemdar said, "We are planning this area as a single, integrated living and service space, not just a collection of separate projects." Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Gökhan Yazgı added that the investments will provide a significant boost to Sakarya's cultural, education and science infrastructure.

The festival and the campus projects are part of a broader effort to enhance Sakarya's cultural profile and public services, with events scheduled to continue until 12 July.
