Sakarya Municipality announces tender for Sapanca Lake corridor extension

Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar has announced the tender date for the second phase of the Huzur Koridoru (Peace Corridor) project along the shores of Sapanca Lake. The tender is scheduled to take place on October 5, 2026.

The project aims to extend the existing corridor by approximately 2 kilometers, stretching from Beşköprü toward the SASKİ Lake Facilities in the direction of Kartepe. This expansion is part of a broader initiative to open the lake's shores to public use by removing encroachments and creating accessible recreational spaces.

The corridor features walking and cycling paths, resting areas, and viewpoints. Following the completion of the first phase in the Serdivan area, the municipality intends to continue its efforts to ensure citizens have better access to the natural environment of Sapanca Lake.
