On the night of 30 July in Mahmudiye Mahallesi, Hendek (Sakarya), municipal police officer O. F. G. and his brother B. K. G. confronted barber K. Ç. The argument quickly escalated and O. F. G. drew his pistol, firing several shots that seriously wounded the barber. K. Ç. was taken to Sakarya Education and Research Hospital for treatment.

After the shooting, O. F. G. fled the scene. Police arrested his brother B. K. G. and launched a city‑wide search for the officer. Authorities said the dispute stemmed from a long‑standing feud linked to the 2022 murder of Yunus Efe, in which the barber was alleged to have connections to a suspect. Both O. F. G. and B. K. G. were later detained following court proceedings.
