Sake Marche festival to support Noto brewery recovery in Kanazawa
The Sake Marche Executive Committee has announced the Sake Marche 2026, a festival of local sake and gourmet food to be held on October 3, 2026, at the Shiinoki迎賓館 in Kanazawa City.
The event aims to support the recovery of sake breweries in the Noto region following the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake and subsequent heavy rains. A portion of the event's proceeds will be allocated to the reconstruction efforts of these breweries.
The festival will feature 25 sake breweries from Ishikawa Prefecture and 31 restaurants or food groups, including notable establishments from the affected Noto area. In addition to traditional tastings, the event will introduce new ways to enjoy sake, such as “Kanazawa Highballs” and “Noto Highballs.” A special “U29” initiative will also be implemented to encourage younger generations to experience Japanese sake by offering discounted tastings for visitors aged 20 to 29.
Furthermore, donation boxes will be available at the venue to support both the Noto breweries and recovery efforts for the Kumamoto earthquake that occurred in July.
