SAKIGAKE JAPAN proposes off-grid cold chain technology in Kazakhstan

SAKIGAKE JAPAN, a Tokyo-based company specializing in disaster prevention and environmental adaptation technology, has proposed its off-grid cold chain solution for use in Kazakhstan. The proposal was featured in a JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) business report following a business matching event held in Astana on May 22, 2026.

The event was part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s ‘Green Transformation (GX) Promotion Project for the Global South.’ SAKIGAKE JAPAN participated as a selected company, with CEO Muneitoshi Kondo delivering a business pitch.

The off-grid cold chain system utilizes renewable energy, storage batteries, cooling agents, and high-insulation boxes. It is designed to enable the refrigeration and transport of food in regions with unstable commercial power supplies. The technology aims to maintain the freshness of agricultural products and reduce food loss during normal operations, while serving as a critical tool for protecting food supplies during disasters or power outages.
