Saúl Canelo Álvarez prepares for Mbilli title fight

Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez and Christian Mbilli have engaged in a verbal confrontation ahead of their WBC super middleweight world championship bout scheduled for October 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. During a face-to-face event organized by DAZN, Mbilli questioned Álvarez’s current physical condition, suggesting the Mexican boxer has lost strength compared to previous years. Álvarez responded by asserting his superiority, stating that Mbilli would not be able to defeat him even if he were 50 or 60 years old.

In preparation for the fight, Álvarez has relocated his training camp to Gandía, Valencia, Spain. This move is intended to help him adapt to the time zone differences experienced in previous fights held in Saudi Arabia. The camp, which will last approximately eight weeks, follows a period in Katowice, Poland, where Álvarez underwent metabolic and cardiovascular physical assessments at the Jerzy Kukuczka Academy of Physical Education.
