Saúl Jiménez Fortes wins fifth Estoque de Plata in Málaga

Bullfighter Saúl Jiménez Fortes has been awarded his fifth ‘Antonio Ordóñez’ Estoque de Plata by the Diputación de Málaga. The award recognizes his outstanding performance on August 21 at the La Malagueta bullring against a bull named Borracho from the Victorino Martín ranch.

Fortes received a unanimous decision from the jury, scoring 150.25 points for his performance. In addition to the Estoque de Plata, he was also awarded the Capote de Paseo from the Málaga City Council for the best performance of the fair, marking his fifth time receiving that honor as well.

The 2026 Málaga bullfighting fair has been described by Francisco Salado, president of the Diputación, as a historic success, coinciding with the 150th anniversary of the La Malagueta bullring. The award will be presented at the upcoming Provincial Bullfighting Gala.
