Saladillo Mayor joins US mission for agricultural innovation
José Luis Salomón, the Mayor of Saladillo, participated in a public-private exchange program in the United States focused on local development and agricultural innovation. The delegation, organized by the Red de Innovación Local (RIL) and CREA, included 27 representatives from various Argentine cities and the agricultural sector.
The mission covered Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana, visiting municipal governments in Saint Louis, Creve Coeur, Chesterfield, and Saint Peters to study professional management models like the City Manager. The agenda also included visits to research hubs such as the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, the 39 North Innovation District, and Bayer facilities. Participants also visited model agricultural establishments like Warren Stemme Farms and Fair Oaks Farms, and met with officials at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to discuss the link between higher education and production.
