Salahudin wins Iroquois Stakes at Churchill Downs

Salahudin, trained by Bob Baffert and owned by Zedan Racing Stables, secured a half-length victory in the Grade 3, $300,000 Iroquois Stakes at Churchill Downs on Saturday. The win earns the horse 10 points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby.

Despite a slow start and a wide trip around the turn, Salahudin, ridden by José Ortiz, overcame trailing positions to defeat He Is No Lie. The horse finished the one-turn mile in 1:36.54. Ortiz took over the mount from regular rider Florent Geroux, who is currently in stable condition at University of Louisville Hospital following a fall on Thursday.

Salahudin, a son of Uncle Mo, remains unbeaten with a lifetime record of 3-3-0-0.
