SalamAir to launch direct Muscat-Erbil flights in October 2026

Omani low-cost carrier SalamAir has announced the launch of a new direct service between Muscat and Erbil, Iraq. Ticket sales are now open, with flights scheduled to commence on 25 October 2026.

The new route will operate twice weekly, marking Erbil as the airline’s second destination in Iraq following its existing operations in Baghdad. The service aims to address growing demand for tourism, business, trade, and family travel between Oman and the Kurdistan Region.

According to Chief Commercial Officer Steven Allen, the expansion is intended to strengthen the airline’s presence in Iraq and enhance Muscat’s role as a regional connecting hub for travelers heading to the Indian Subcontinent and Asia. The move also aligns with the economic ambitions of Oman Vision 2040.
