Salamanca and Alcázar de San Juan host art and exhibition events

The Association of Women Atenea organized a public lecture on June 9, 2026 at the Julián Sánchez "El Charro" cultural centre in Salamanca. The talk, titled "Controversial, prohibited or censored works of art throughout history," was presented by psychologist and adult‑education specialist Julio Carlos Gómez Sañudo, examining how societies and institutions have reacted to transgressive artworks.

In Alcázar de San Juan, the Ateneo inaugurated a student exhibition on June 5, 2026 showcasing about twenty‑five paintings and drawings created in its long‑running Painting Workshop. The display features pastel works alongside oil, charcoal and sanguine pieces, highlighting the students' artistic development. The exhibition will remain open through June and is expected to stay accessible until mid‑September.
