Salamanca announces subsidies for local theatre companies

The Salamanca City Council has launched its seventh consecutive call for subsidies to support local professional theatre companies. The initiative aims to promote performing arts and support the production of new theatrical works within the municipality.

Grants range from 500 to 7,000 euros depending on the target audience and the scale of the production. Projects aimed at adult audiences or general audiences can receive between 5,000 and 7,000 euros, plus a percentage of net box office receipts. Medium and large-format family productions are eligible for 1,500 to 3,000 euros, while small-format family productions can receive between 500 and 1,500 euros.

Interested groups must submit their proposals by November 20. Selected works are scheduled to premiere during 2027 at the Teatro Liceo or other municipal venues.
