Salamanca authorities seize 25,000 liters of diesel

Authorities in Salamanca, Guanajuato, seized approximately 25,000 liters of a substance identified as diesel. The discovery was made during a joint operation involving State Public Security Forces, the National Guard, and the Mexican Army.

During a patrol on a dirt road leading to the Olivos de Callejones community, security forces detected a strong smell of fuel. An inspection revealed a handmade container with a 35,000-liter capacity, containing roughly 25,000 liters of diesel hidden among dry branches.

Approximately one kilometer from the container, officials located a clandestine hydrocarbon tap. The area has been secured, and the fuel, the container, and the site of the illegal connection have been placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Ministry in Irapuato to investigate the origin of the fuel and any links between the deposit and the irregular connection.
