Salamanca, Guanajuato expands mental‑health care and celebrates 15‑year critical‑care center milestone

The Guanajuato State Health Secretariat, through the Community Center for Mental Health and Addictions (CECOSAMA) in Salamanca, has launched free, integrated outpatient services for depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, substance use and related conditions. The program combines medicine, psychology and social work, offers personalized therapeutic plans and operates Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In parallel, the State Critical Care Center of Salamanca marked its 15th anniversary. Since its opening in 2009, the facility has treated 2,371 patients, including those with severe burns and other critical conditions. Officials recognized the staff’s contributions and highlighted the center’s role as a regional reference for high‑complexity care.
