Salamanca, Mexico Holds International Tactical Medicine Conference and Youth Honor Guard Program

The municipal government of Salamanca, Guanajuato inaugurated the Second International Tactical and Operational Medicine Jornadas on July 29‑31, 2026. About 400 participants—including members of state and municipal security forces, emergency responders, health professionals and first‑responders—were trained in self‑care, high‑impact rescue protocols, and severe‑injury first aid. Speakers came from Spain, Brazil, the United States, Chile, Bolivia and Argentina and the event was hosted at the INFOPOL facilities as part of Mayor César Prieto’s strategy to strengthen public‑safety institutions.

In a separate outreach activity, twelve‑year‑old Marisa Rodríguez was named an Honorary Guard of the 36th Battalion of the Mexican National Guard in Salamanca. She received a specially made uniform, a plaque and toured the battalion’s tactical, medical and communications equipment, including the specialty "Cobra" vehicle. The program, modeled after the long‑running "Soldado por un Día" initiative, aims to foster community ties with security forces.
