Salamanca to host second Environmental Days at Urban Gardens

The second edition of the Environmental Days (Jornadas Medioambientales) will take place on September 18 and 19 at the Lonja de los Huertos Urbanos in Salamanca. Organized by Asprodes Plena Inclusión Castilla y León in collaboration with the Salamanca City Council, the event aims to strengthen the connection between citizens and the local natural environment.

On Friday, September 18, activities begin at 17:00 with an interpretive walk along the banks of the Tormes River. This tour highlights the urban health benefits of the Urban Gardens and the Green Corridors, which form a 13-kilometer pedestrian and cycling circuit from Isla del Soto to La Salud. This will be followed by a visit to the Huerta Otea Botanical Park at 18:30.

Saturday, September 19, features practical workshops at the Lonja de los Huertos Urbanos, including ‘The Orchard in Autumn’ at 09:30 and ‘Feathers and Reeds’ at 11:30. The program concludes at 13:30 with a gastronomic workshop titled ‘From the Orchard… to your Table,’ focusing on seasonal products. Participation is free but requires prior registration due to capacity limits.
