Salamanca travel agency owner arrested for fraud

The Spanish National Police have arrested the owner of a travel agency in Salamanca for suspected continuous fraud. The investigation indicates that the suspect caused financial losses exceeding 40,000 euros to approximately 80 victims, including private individuals and members of various associations.

One major case involved the president of a retirees' association who contracted a coastal trip for over 60 people in February. Despite making multiple payments, the group discovered upon contacting their destination hotel that no reservations had been made. Other individual clients reported similar experiences, discovering that their pre-paid hotel stays had not been processed by the agency.

Investigators found that the agency had ceased its commercial activities and was closed at the time of the investigation. The suspect has been placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities in Salamanca.
