Salamina to receive new supported living facility for people with disabilities

The Attica Region has signed a contract to construct a new supported living facility for people with disabilities in Salamina. The project, which has a budget of 1.19 million euros plus VAT, is funded by European resources through the Attica 2021–2027 Regional Program.

The planned 490-square-meter building will have a capacity for nine beneficiaries and will feature fully equipped rooms and common areas. The facility is expected to be completed within 24 months. The Association of Parents and Friends of People with Disabilities of Salamina will be responsible for its operation.

This project is the second of three such facilities being developed under this regional initiative, following a structure in Ilioupoli and preceding one planned for Palaio Faliro. Attica Region Governor Nikos Hardalias noted that the region is the first in Greece to use ESPA funds for the original construction of these specific types of social care infrastructures.
