Salatiga sets record by collecting 1,276 bottles of used cooking oil

The city of Salatiga has set a new record through the Lembaga Prestasi Indonesia Dunia (Leprid) by collecting 1,276 bottles of used cooking oil as part of the 'Gerakan Sedekah Jelantah untuk Amal' initiative.

Mayor Robby Hernawan stated that the primary goal of the movement is to foster awareness that discarded items can be repurposed for environmental and social benefits. The initiative aims to prevent environmental pollution caused by improper oil disposal and to mitigate health risks associated with reusing cooking oil. The program encourages citizens to adopt consistent waste management habits starting from their own homes.
