Salcombe seagull Roger gains international fame

A seagull in Salcombe, known as Roger or ‘Mr Roger’, has gained international attention after forming a close bond with local shop owner Mark Khoury. The bird first came into Khoury's care approximately four or five years ago after falling from its nest.

Roger has become a local fixture at Clifton Place, where he maintains a routine of defending his territory from other seagulls. The bird has achieved significant social media popularity, with his Instagram account garnering over 100,000 hits. His fame has extended to international media, including appearances on CNN International and French television.
