Saleh Kebzabo denies resignation threats, Médiature clarifies

The Médiature de la République in Chad has issued a formal denial regarding social media reports claiming that its head, Saleh Kebzabo, has repeatedly threatened to resign. The rumors suggested his potential departure was linked to the institution's operating budget.

The institution clarified that these claims do not reflect Kebzabo’s actual position or the facts of the situation. They noted that during a roundtable for International Day of Peace on September 21, 2026, Kebzabo was asked about the resources available to the Médiature. He responded by acknowledging the state's constraints and the country's many priorities, stating that while the institution has only minimum resources, it must continue its mission of conflict prevention with what is available.

The Médiature described the circulating reports as “grossly fanciful” and a distortion of his actual comments, calling for caution regarding the spread of misinformation involving public figures and state institutions.
