Salem Rekoub, a 28-year-old Algerian national, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison by the Isleworth Crown Court for the rape of a woman in West London. The incident occurred in July 2024 in the Chelsea area, when Rekoub encountered a semi-conscious woman at a bus stop.

According to court proceedings, Rekoub dragged the victim into an alleyway between parked cars, where the assault lasted approximately 17 minutes. The victim sustained 33 bruises during the attack. Prosecutors noted that Rekoub, who had entered the UK on a tourist visa in 2023 and was working illegally as a Deliveroo delivery driver, attempted to mislead authorities by calling emergency services and claiming the woman had consumed excessive alcohol.

CCTV footage revealed that Rekoub followed the victim's ambulance to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where he was seen searching the corridors for her. The judge described the case as extremely serious and labeled Rekoub a danger to the public.
