Salento region in Italy celebrates summer festivals and highlights hidden cultural attractions

Throughout August, the Salento area of Italy's Province of Lecce hosts a series of traditional summer festivals. Events run from August 1 to August 9 and include the Mercatino del gusto in Maglie, the Birra e sound gathering in Galatina, historic processions in Copertino and Neviano, food fairs in Felline and Minervino di Lecce, and music and food festivals in Lecce and Vaste.
