Salerno Airport expands transport links amid Naples closure
Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport is expanding its transport services to accommodate increased passenger traffic, particularly as Naples Capodichino Airport prepares for a month-long closure in November 2026 for runway redevelopment.
To support this transition, GESAC and Busitalia Campania will launch an extraordinary bus service connecting Naples Piazza Garibaldi to Salerno Airport. The service will operate eight trips per direction daily, with tickets priced at 12 euros and payable via electronic systems on board. Additionally, shuttle services between the Salerno airport and the city's railway station have been increased, alongside existing connections to Potenza, Eboli, Battipaglia, and the Amalfi Coast.
Labor representatives from CGIL Salerno, including Carmen Morra and Gianluca Petrone, have called for further acceleration of regional infrastructure. They emphasized that to reach the target of three million passengers and capitalize on the return of carriers like easyJet, the region must invest in modern mobility networks, including metro and rail links, and complete the new airport terminal.
