Salerno authorities close bakeries and dairy due to hygiene risks

Authorities in Salerno have ordered the closure of two bakeries and one dairy facility following inspections by the Carabinieri's Anti-Sophistication and Health Nucleus (NAS).

During an inspection of a dairy plant in the Piana del Sele area, investigators discovered critical hygienic and structural deficiencies. The presence of both flying and crawling insects in food processing areas and storage cells created a significant risk of food contamination.

As a result, the local health authority (ASL) issued an immediate suspension of activities. Dairy products found to be at risk of contamination are undergoing destruction procedures. These measures are part of a broader inspection campaign conducted by the NAS across the Salerno province and Irpinia to monitor food production and commercialization.
