Salerno Mayor proposes stricter sanctions against illegal parking and waste abandonment

The Mayor of Salerno, Vincenzo De Luca, has announced a proposal to increase sanctions against illegal parking, waste scavenging, and the abandonment of bulky items on city streets. Speaking during an event involving the distribution of smart carts funded by the PNRR, De Luca emphasized that current tools are insufficient to combat these issues effectively.

De Luca described the struggle against illegal parking as an ‘infinite war’ if more rigorous national regulations and deterrents are not implemented. The administration aims to work alongside municipal police to ensure that those who violate urban decorum and security face more severe consequences.
