Salerno residents banned from Melfi-Nocerina match tickets
Authorities have banned the sale of tickets to residents of the Salerno province for the upcoming Serie D football match between Melfi and Nocerina, scheduled for October 4, 2026, at the Arturo Valerio stadium.
The decision was made by Prefect Michele Campanaro following a recommendation from the Sports Manifestations Security Analysis Committee. The measure stems from a violent incident during a Coppa Italia Dilettanti match on August 30, where a group of Nocerina supporters allegedly assaulted access control personnel and entered the stadium without tickets.
Due to the history of unrest and the high risk of public disorder associated with the rivalry between the two fanbases, officials determined that restricting ticket sales to Salerno residents is necessary to maintain public safety.
For the match, Ferdinando Carluccio of L’Aquila has been appointed as the head referee, assisted by Matteo D’Orazio and Sara Silenzi.
