Salerno to host Frecce Tricolori air show and national aviation rally

Salerno will host the 22nd National Rally of the Associazione Arma Aeronautica – Aviatori d’Italia from September 25 to 27, 2026. A major highlight of the event is the return of the Frecce Tricolori to the city's skies after twenty years.

The air show holds particular significance as it will feature one of the final appearances of the historic MB-339 aircraft before they are retired and replaced by new models. The event includes a three-day program featuring the ‘Villaggio Azzurro’ exhibition area, which will host flight simulators, a static display of a Tornado cockpit, and stands from the Italian Air Force.

Scheduled activities include a CESMA conference on the future of multi-domain aeronautics, a ‘Made in Italy’ showcase, and ceremonies honoring fallen personnel. The festivities will conclude on Sunday, September 27, with an aviators' parade followed by the Frecce Tricolori aerial display over the Salerno seafront.
